Dressing up for Halloween: Do I or don’t I?

I get asked all kinds of fun questions—strange one too—but this is one of my favorites: “Do you dress up for Halloween?”

Yes, I do. Even at forty-something, I put on a costume to greet trick-or-treaters. Since I don’t get them where I live now, I dress and go to my sister’s house and hand out candy while she takes my niece around the neighborhood. It’s a freeing feeling to do it. Like being a kid again. Mind, I pick easy costumes that are comfortable. I’m no longer dressing as the “Sexy Nurse.”

What do I dress as? Let’s see—witch, angel, medieval princess and Red Riding Hood are the last years. I haven’t figured out what I wish to dress as this year, but it will also be a simple costume in a bag choice.

If you don’t dress up, even to put on a monk’s robe, try it this year. Live a little. Kids find it funny when the adult meets them dressed up also.

Note: That’s my cousin in the photo.

Until next time, happy reading!
