Hello Fabulous Readers!
Did I capture your attention? It certainly pulled me in at 1:30 a.m. while I woke, ready to write “that” scene. Crafting a sex scene demands that I tap into the right mindset, as it reaches far beyond the mere physical act. It involves a rich tapestry of emotions, intimate expressions, and the dynamics of connection between the characters.
These scenes are the most challenging to write for me, as they require an intense level of focus and sensitivity. After writing fourteen HIS and Agents of HIS books, each containing one or more sex scenes, the quest to create fresh, compelling material is always daunting. Yet, my mind often surprises me in unexpected ways. Tonight, as the clock ticks in the quiet of the early morning, I feel an unusual surge of readiness with inspiration buzzing just beneath the surface, waiting to be unleashed.
I do write books with closed-door sex scenes, a style defining my Coastal Investigation romantic suspense series that is nearing its conclusion. As I prepare to transition into my next series, set to launch next year, I am contemplating the direction I want to take regarding intimacy in my writing. Specifically, I am deciding between open-door and closed-door sex scenes. Given the feedback I’ve received from my readers, I am leaning towards incorporating more open-door scenes, as many of them have expressed a desire for the explicit content in my future works. We shall see where the stories take me.
Regardless, it’s time to put my thoughts on paper and complete this pivotal scene in Pup’s books. I’ve only experimented with the transition from enemies to lovers, so this should be exciting.
As I close, my cats are awake and yawning at the early hour as they take their places as my writing companions. If only they knew what I was writing….
Until next time,
